There is a significant place given to prayer and worship in Islam. It is narrated in the holy book Quran that ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ood said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “No one will enter Hell in whose heart is an atom’s worth of faith.”

This means, all those who are believers are not going to go to hell. Now what does “believer” means, depends on how you interpret the teachings of Islam. According to the general belief, the faith is directly related to prayer and one who does not pray, does not have faith.
And then Quran says, “No one will enter Hell in whose heart is an atom’s worth of faith.”

So now it just depends on what you believe this faith to be. In Islam,
faith and prayer are not generally dissociated. They go hand in hand with each other and one who does not pray, does not have any faith and hence is bound to inherit hell.
