I think love works best when there is a balance between heart and brain, philosophically. If we see logically or scientifically, love is more of a scientific or biological process.

Philosophers might attribute the process of love to heart, because of what we have learned from books, literature, and poetry. But the more logical definition of love has more to do with mind and body than heart.
Scientifically, the process of falling in love has three stages –lust, attraction, and attachment. While lust is experienced due to the release of testosterone in men and oestrogen in women, attraction is the result of the certain chemicals like dopamine, adrenaline, and norepinephrine being secreted in our brain. The last phase is also related to a hormonal release, that of oxytocin. So love is very much related to the working of mind.
