To reach Northern Africa from Europe, one has to cross the Mediterranean Sea.
It serves as the natural border between the two continents. Depending on where you start and finish, you might cross through specific sections of the Mediterranean, such as:
- The Strait of Gibraltar: The narrowest point (about 14 km), connecting Spain to Morocco.
- The Sicilian Channel: Connecting Italy (Sicily) to Tunisia.
- The Alboran Sea: The westernmost part of the Mediterranean, just east of the Strait of Gibraltar.
