UEFA EURO 2020

Euro 2020 which is also known as the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship is the 16th European championship. It is the international men's football championship which is administered by the Union of European Football Association (UEFA).

The tournament was organised in 11 different cities and was scheduled from 12 June to 12 July 2020. Due to the rise of coronavirus in the world and also pandemic situation the tournament was postponed. UEFA has now rescheduled the championship and will start from 11 June to 11 July 2021. The championship has decided to hold on to the name aa "UEFA Euro 2020".

Effect of Pandemic on the championship

The UEFA Euro 2020 was scheduled in the month of June till July 2020. But due to the rising concern of the impact of Covid-19 in Europe started to give reasons for the postponement of the championship. There were great concerns regarding the health of players, staff and all the other visitors in the hosted cities. The UEFA Congress reported that they had a great settlement in respect to the situation and also are in context with the World Health Organization. Later on, there were several matches that occurred behind the doors. The European Leagues were postponed including several competitions.

Later on 17 March 2020, there was a meeting held to discuss the outbreak of some domestic competitions and Euro 2020 was also included. The UEFA reported that the competitions are rescheduled and will be held in the upcoming year.

  • Group A- Turkey, Italy, Wales and Switzerland
  • Group B- Denmark, Finland, Belgium and Russia
  • Group C- Netherlands, Ukraine, Austria and North Macedonia
  • Group D- England, Croatia, Scotland, and Czech
  • Group E- Spain, Sweden, Poland and Slovakia
  • Group F- Hungary, Portugal, France and Germany


Live streaming of UEFA EURO 2020

The matches held between these groups from June 11 to July 11 2021 will be available online on Sony LIV. The whole championship will be broadcasted on Sony TEN2 and Sony TEN3 in India.
