To win elections in 2014, Modi made many tempting promises. It was with utter faith and confidence in this man that Indians chose him, and his party BJP over the Congress rule. Amongst all, the common man and the farmer had a lot of hopes with the current Prime Minister. But we all know what the government gave us in return. The hollow promises came in front of everyone as lies and consequently, disrupted the image of the ruling government.

Now that General Elections 2019 is just around the corner, Mr. Modi has again started thinking about the interest farmers and the general public and is again showering them with a new set of promises. Many farmers have committed suicide due to debt in the rule of BJP government and many ministers have pointed out this fact time and often.
Giving an ear to these ministers, Modi has promised to give relaxation in the debt to the farmers, and many policies are shown to be on their way of implementation.
In the tenure of the present government, neither the farmers have got any benefit from the compensation, nor has the cost of the production been increased. Even the relaxation in debt, until now, has made available to the landlords and property holders only, instead of the really needy farmers. In all these years, agriculture at some places was disrupted due to floods, and due to droughts in the other regions.
After all this distress, farmers had to protest to make themselves heard. So overall, farmers have not been benefitted at all during the tenure of Modi government.
