Have you ever deleted a post or story just because it didn't get enough views?

Yes, I have.

I posted a reel once that I actually put effort into. Took multiple shots, edited it properly, even wrote a decent caption. Posted it and just... nothing. Like 43 views in two hours while everyone else's random blurry content was hitting thousands.

I deleted it the same night.

And the worst part? I knew it was a good post. I just couldn't stand seeing that low number sitting there. It felt like public proof that nobody cared.

Looking back, that's kind of sad. I let an algorithm decide whether my effort was worth keeping. But yeah, that's exactly what I did.

Honestly, yes — and I think a lot of people have, even if they don’t admit it. Sometimes you post something thinking it’ll do well, and when it doesn’t get the reaction or views you expected, you suddenly start overthinking it.

It’s not always about being attention-seeking — sometimes it’s just that social media makes you more aware of how people are responding, and that can mess with your confidence a little. Deleting a post or story because it didn’t get enough views is actually a pretty relatable thing now.

But at the same time, it also shows how much we let numbers affect us. A post not getting enough views doesn’t always mean it was bad — sometimes it just didn’t reach people at the right time.

Absolutely 😭. I’d love to say I’m above that, but sometimes if a post or story flops too hard, it starts feeling personally offensive 💀. Like why did I think this was a masterpiece and Instagram said “no thanks”? Sometimes it’s not even that the post is bad, it just didn’t get the love I expected, and suddenly I’m questioning everything. I’ve definitely deleted something, acted like I “just didn’t like it anymore,” and moved on like nothing happened 😂. It’s a little embarrassing, but also very real. Social media will have you rethinking your entire existence over low views for no reason.

Honestly, yeah, I’ve done that a couple of times. It’s kind of hard not to notice when something you post doesn’t get the same views or likes as usual. At first, it feels like maybe the content wasn’t good enough, so deleting it seems like the easiest fix.

But over time, I’ve realized it’s not always about quality. Sometimes it’s just timing, algorithm, or people not being active. Now I try not to take it too seriously. If I like what I posted, I leave it there.

I think it’s normal to feel that way, especially with social media pressure, but it’s better to focus on posting what you enjoy rather than chasing numbers.

To be honest, I’ve definitely removed a post or story before when it didn’t get the views I expected. It’s kind of hard not to compare when you’re used to getting a certain level of engagement. When something underperforms, it makes you question if the content was even worth posting.

But over time, I’ve started to see that views don’t always reflect the actual value of what you share. Sometimes it’s just bad timing, the algorithm, or people not being online. Now I try to leave my posts up, especially if I genuinely like them.

In my opinion, it’s totally normal to feel that way, but constantly deleting posts can take the fun out of social media. It’s better to focus on expressing yourself rather than stressing over numbers.
