BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology is becoming increasingly widely used. However, in order to be successful with BIM, it is important to understand the tool and cultivate its use. Academics from the University of Illinois at Chicago just released "Showing Leadership: A study on how Building Information Modeling can contribute to higher education," a report that states that effective BIM training for academics requires a combination of content knowledge, skills and leadership. 

"Leadership" refers both to oneself as well as others who are engaged in the practice of building construction or design.
