How to Troubleshoot QuickBooks Error 6123, 0 in Desktop?

QuickBooks Desktop Error 6123, 0 usually appears when opening, restoring, or upgrading a company file. It is often related to network issues, damaged company files, or firewall/antivirus blocking QuickBooks.

1️⃣ Rename the .ND and .TLG Files

  1. Open the folder where your company file (.QBW) is stored.

  2. Find files with the same name but extensions .ND and .TLG.

  3. Right-click each file → Rename.

  4. Add .OLD at the end Open QuickBooks again.

2️⃣ Use QuickBooks Tool Hub

  1. Download QuickBooks Tool Hub from the official Intuit site.

  2. Install and open it.

  3. Go to Company File Issues.

  4. Run QuickBooks File Doctor.

This tool scans and fixes company file problems automatically.

3️⃣ Move the Company File to a Local Drive

  1. Copy the company file (.QBW).

  2. Paste it to your Desktop or local drive.

  3. Open QuickBooks → Open the file from the new location.

4️⃣ Check Firewall / Antivirus

Sometimes firewall blocks QuickBooks services.

  • Add QuickBooks as an exception in firewall.

  • Temporarily disable antivirus and try opening the file.

5️⃣ Restore a Backup File
