I am not a congress supporter, but I am very happy with such a turn of events. Seeing the extreme authoritarian rule of BJP since it came to power at center in 2014, it’s a sigh of relief that it has lost three of the major Hindi-dominant states.
Whenever someone asks me, why you speak in favor of Congress, my reaction is:
That’s exactly the case everywhere in India right now. We really don’t have a choice as there should be in a democracy.
The RSS ideologies and the Hindutva agenda, that was the center of most of the policies of the government, had started giving a sensation of suffocation, with the increasing cases of mob lynching and decreasing status of the farmers of India.
Of whatever Congress will do in the concerned states, at least it will have liberal governance policies, which at least would not harm.
So I won’t say that it’s an entirely positive outcome, but it is certainly better than otherwise.
