Is NASA really Wants People on Mars Within 25 Years

The American space research organisation, NASA is trying its best to send astronauts to Mars. But it will take minimum of 25 years as there is so many issues to be solved. There will be deadly radiations from the cosmos which will affect the human in Mars. There will be potential loss of vision and atrophying of bones in Mars. NASA should find solutions for these problems before sending humans into Mars.

Former NASA official Mr. Tom Jones said that there will be technical and medical hindrance to overcome before setting foot on Mars. Under the current budgets it will take 25 years to find solutions for these medical and technology problems.

Mars' distance from earth is about 140 million miles. Mars mission's scientific problems on magnitude is greater than the problem faced by lunar missions.

With current rocket technology, it will take nine months for an astronaut to reach Mars. The physical pressure of floating on 0 gravity for that much time is enormous.

Scientists think that prolonged weightlessness and floating on 0 gravity by the astronauts may damage their blood vessels in the eyes and will lead to loss of vision.

Mars has only one third of gravity of earth. Scientists still don't know what will be the effects if the astronauts spend one year on Mars.

More research should be done on reducing the travel time to Mars. Which in turn reduce the expected medical risks the astronauts may face in Mars.

Scientists should come up with a shield to protect astronauts from cosmic rays. And technology should find ways to produce electricity on flights.
Currently NASA has a new robotic Lander called Insight, zooming towards mars which will land on Mars on 26th November . Insight is aimed to give knowledge of interiors of Mars and would fill the critical unknown sides of Mars to humans.

Apart from NASA, private companies like SpaceX and other firms are researching on Mars which will help in understanding Mars. So definitely NASA wants people on Mars in 25 years of time.
