How to Get Universal Account Number (UAN) at EPFO India Portal

The Universal Account Number or simply UAN is a must have for every employee whether in the private or public sector. This 12-digit number is allocated by the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) to every employee who has registered with this organization. With UAN, you will not have to worry about losing your details whenever you change a job since it remains the same throughout your entire life. Once you decide to change the workplace, you will be given a new Member Id by simply submitting the 12-digit UAN number to your new employer. This Member ID will then be linked to your UAN thus making it easy for you to access the services offered by EPF UAN Login.

You can get your UAN number directly from your employer or by simply visiting the EPF India portal. In this article, we are going to have a look on how to get your UAN at EPFO India portal by simply following the step by step guide given below:

❖ On the search bar of your browser whether Google Chrome, Internet Explorer of Mozilla Firefox, type in https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ as the official link for accessing UAN portal. Hit the enter button once this link has been entered correctly.

❖ On the homepage of this portal, you will have to click on “Know Your UAN Status “option that is directly below the login menu. This action will automatically redirect you to a new page on the site.

❖ You will then have to select your state and EPFO office from the drop down menu that will appear in this option.

❖ Next, key in your Member ID in the space set aside for this detail. You can access your Member ID from your pay slip if you do not know it off head.

❖ Correctly type in your full names as in the PF records.

❖ Enter your date of birth starting with the day, month and then year. This date of birth should match the one available in the EPFO records.

❖ Fill in your registered mobile number before finally entering a valid Email ID.

❖ Correctly fill in the captcha displayed.

❖ Once all the details have been filled in, you will have to click on “Get authorization Pin” button.

❖ A One Time Pin (OTP) will then be sent to the registered mobile number that you entered in the previous page of this site. Carefully enter this OTP and click on “Validate OTP and get UAN” button.

❖ The Universal Account Number will then be sent to your registered mobile number in form of a text message.

With your Universal Account Number in place, you can easily access the services that EPF has to offer so long as you have activated the number. To activate the number, you will have to open EPF India portal and complete the process from there. Once activated, you will be given a password that will be used when logging into the EPFO.
