Different bases for segmentation are -
1. Demographic and socio-economic segmentation-
Demographic segmentation include a number of factors including age, family size, gender, occupation, education and religion.
Social economic variables may also be considered here including income education, social class and ethnic origins.
2. Psychographic segmentation - it includes lifestyle, personality, social class, people's behaviour, values and beliefs.
3. Geographic segmentation- geographic segmentation divides customer according to where the leave for work. For example country size, Sidhi size, climate population density.
4. Behavioral segmentation- based on the type of buying habits and brand loyalty.
5. Benefits segmentation- it based on the perceived value or advertising that customer believes that they will receive from your product.
