For Iso 50001 certification, an organization needs to prepare some basic and mandatory documents to show that it has a proper Energy Management System in place. These usually include an Energy Policy approved by top management, energy objectives and targets, an energy management plan, energy review records, identification of significant energy uses, legal and regulatory compliance records, operational control procedures, monitoring and measurement records, internal audit reports, and management review minutes. Along with this, documents like scope of Iso 50001, roles and responsibilities, training records, corrective and preventive action records, and calibration records of energy-monitoring equipment are also required. These documents help auditors verify that the organization is systematically managing and improving its energy performance as per Iso 50001 requirements.
