The most common symptom of coronary artery disease is angina, or chest pain.

Heart disease often shows warning signs that should not be ignored. Recognizing these noticeable indications early can help prevent serious health complications.

One of the most common indications is chest discomfort. This may feel like pressure, tightness, heaviness, or pain in the chest and can spread to the arms, neck, jaw, shoulders, or back. Shortness of breath is another key sign and may occur during physical activity or even while resting, indicating that the heart is struggling to pump blood efficiently.

Unusual or persistent fatigue is also an important warning sign, especially when it appears without clear reason and interferes with daily activities. Dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting may occur due to reduced blood flow or irregular heart rhythms. Some people notice palpitations, which feel like a rapid, pounding, or fluttering heartbeat.

Swelling in the legs, ankles, feet, or abdomen can signal fluid buildup caused by poor circulation. Other noticeable indications include nausea, cold sweats, and a general feeling of weakness or discomfort, particularly during a heart attack.
