What happens to gifts received by prime minister of India?

Every day, the Prime Minister of India receives gifts from all over the world. With a total budget of 2.6 million euros in 2018, it is unclear how he manages to spend so much money on presents! This post will look into what happens to these gifts and what might help improve the Prime Minister's fiscal situation.

Mostly, the gifters are simply moved to a different pile for future use by him or his office. One other way in which they might be used is if they have been shared with other people who are in need of help or who have made some contributions towards bettering society in their own state and/or country (for instance through charity).
