What is a virus?

A virus is at the border of living and non-living. It cannot survive without a host. It multiplies and flourishes by using the cellular components of the host. Viruses are defined by their host. Plant virus, animal virus, human virus, and bacterial virus are different categories of viruses based on their host. Inside the host cell, their genetic material can mutate. Viral therapy has also been developed in biotechnology to treat certain conditions.
