Aerial video is a new type of data capture that can be used to analyse a scene and track objects. The footage is acquired by low-flying aerial platforms that use Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and automated picture processing to improve data collection and reduction accuracy and cost-effectiveness. An aerial shot is a photograph taken from a higher vantage point than the subject of the photograph. Viewers get a better idea of what's going on below, both literally and metaphorically, via aerial shots.
