What is evolution?

Evolution is the step-by-step change that occurs in the characteristics of a species depending upon natural selection through the timespan of several generations. It is based on the idea that all species are interlinked, and changes will happen with time. This change mainly depends on the genetic variation in the species, which changes the physical characteristics or the phenotype of that organism. These changes are also likely to provide an advantage for the latest organism to adapt well to the surrounding, different from its predecessors.
