Hair transplantation is a surgical procedure where the hair follicles are transplanted from one area of a person's head to the other, specially where the hair are receding or thinning. The part of the head where the hair are being removed from is known as the 'donor site', and the area where the main transplant is taking place is known as the 'recipient site'. Primarily, this technique is done to treat the male pattern baldness, but can be done on females as well. Once you are done with the transplant surgery, it takes approximately 10-14 days to recover. During the recovery process, the patient can expect the scalp to be red, a little scabby or even swollen as well. The results of this surgery can only be seen after six to nine months after getting the surgery done. In some cases, it may even take up to a year to see the proper results.

A hair transplant is a surgical treatment for baldness or hair loss. It involves moving hair follicles from a donor site, typically the back or sides of the scalp, to the recipient site, which is the area of the scalp that is experiencing hair loss or baldness.

There are two essential strategies utilized in hair transplantation:

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT): This method, which is also known as the "strip method," involves taking a strip of skin from the donor area, cutting it into individual follicular units, and then implanting those follicular units in the recipient site.

Extraction of Follicular Units (FUE): This procedure includes separating individual hair follicles straightforwardly from the giver region utilizing a specific instrument or mechanical framework. After that, the follicles are inserted into the site of the recipient.

The transplanted hair follicles continue to develop naturally in their new location. Most of the time, the procedure is done under local anesthesia, and the patient may get sedation to keep them comfortable.
