Aloha is a word that has many meanings in Hawaiian culture. It can be used as a greeting, farewell, way of expressing love and affection, and more. "Aloha ina" is Hawaiian for "love of the land" or, more broadly, "love of one's motherland." Other expressions are "aloha nui", which loosely translates to "embrace with love" or "true love".
The aloha state is the only place on earth where you can see a petroglyph rock carving dating back to over 1000 years ago buried next to a large luxury hotel resort—they are both reminders of Hawaii's deep cultural history.
