I bake a lot. Almost every day, I bake something new because I love experimenting in the kitchen. Some of my favorite baking stuff includes cup cakes, brownies, and eggless cake. Even when I bake such sweet stuff, I always use a pinch of salt. The main reason of using this ingredient is to enhance the existing flavours of the recipe. Salt is such an ingredient that melds with other ingredients easily and takes away the complex flavours of the dish.

Salt is a very important ingredient in baking. It enhances flavor and adds complexity to breads, cookies, cakes and other pastries.
Essentially, salt brings out flavors that the baker wants to emphasize or boost. In our chocolate chip cookie recipe, for example, we use a pinch of salt to bring out the flavor of the chocolate chips and enhance them with natural fleur de sel (a type of sea salt). Salt also balances sweet flavors like sugar or honey with salty ones like butter or cream cheese. And it's an important ingredient by weight in yeast-free recipes such as brownies.
