When Modi government came into power, it promised to empower the manufacturing sector and took many steps towards its development.

But just like other governmental policies, this one didn’t bear any considerable fruits.
Recently, however, news has stirred up that one achievement of this project is still to be counted.
Under Make In India, India has recently built up the Australian Railway Metro Coach, and it is big news for the manufacturing sector. The manufacture of these coaches has taken place in Baroda, Gujarat. Placed in 2015, this order was for 450 coaches. But only 6 have been shipped as yet by the Mumbai Port Trust.
Each coach is 75 meters in length and weighs 46 ton. The shipping of these coaches by the Mumbai Port Trust adds to the achievement of Make In India, as until now such shipping was being done only by private companies.
Apart from this project, Indian manufacture sector also has the order of manufacturing 521 railway bogies for Brazil too. In the coming 5 years, the country will be in need of 2000 metro trains, which is also beneficial for this sector.
