The current situation of the Indian students in Ukraine is miserable. They are going through a nightmare. As planned to return to India, the students were very hopeful of catching the flight back home. Then suddenly came the news that war had broken out. Ukraine's airspace was closed. Now nearly exhausted as they were headed home, they suddenly found themselves with nothing to eat. And then buying food is also difficult because not many malls and groceries are open at this time. And to add to the fuel, even ATMs are not working. Some students explaining the situation said, " People are flocking to shopping malls. Since nobody knows when this will end, everybody is trying to say everything ". Moreover as said earlier access to money has been a major issue. Internet, ATMs, and banking services have already stopped working, and also the local transport system. They are not able to book the tickets either.

In Kharkiv, drinking water has even become a huge problem. We all buy water from dedicated dispensers. Like other people, I also struggled to buy food and also to find some dry items after a long time ."
Considering the escalation process of the situation, the Indian Embassy has been constantly issuing advisories for the Indian students. In the last message, they were told to move to a nearby bomb shelter as soon as possible. Hopes of repatriating them soon shattered as Ukraine closed its airspace on Thursday. Hoping to get back all of them perfectly and properly.
