What overtime compensation must employers provide?

Employers must provide overtime compensation. It is typically double the original wage rate (2x) for hours worked beyond standard limits (usually 9 hours/day or 48 hours/week).

The "ordinary rate" includes basic wages plus cash equivalents for benefits like food grains, but excludes bonuses and overtime pay itself.
