The latest information that we have in this regard is that published in The Lancet. The report in The Lancet, is based on a research conducted among the women of Australia, Finland, and Norway. 14,500 single births between 1980 and 2016 were taken into consideration.
The results of this research suggest that women can conceive safely after one year of a stillbirth. There are no added risks of another stillbirth, preterm birth, or small-for-gestational-age birth. The minimum duration of wait after a stillbirth was found to be 9 months.
“Among women who had a stillbirth, 63 percent got pregnant again within a year, and 37 percent did within six months”, says the study in The Lancet.
So one thing that it made clear by this study is that there is no risk associated with the time interval between stillbirth and next pregnancy that can curb successful pregnancy after a stillbirth.
