In the context of the present Indian political scenario, this is a very critical question to answer. Sonia Gandhi is the president of Indian National Congress and she has been anchoring the party since last couple of decades. The fact that there is no one to replace her if she does suddenly would cause confusion and chaos among the party. Though, some might think that his son Rahul Gandhi, who happens to be the vice president of the party, can take over the charge. However, experts are of the opinion that Rahul Gandhi is not fit enough to replace her mother.
In the absence of Sonia Gandhi, who has been like true leaders, there is likely to be an internal struggle among the party’s prominent members to gain power. Indian National Congress post 2015 has been going through a lot of turmoil. They have been losing elections on a consistent basis, yet people expect them to bounce back because they have someone as charismatic as Sonia Gandhi, who over the years has evolved to be a smart politician. In her absence, the party will be in absolute disarray and the power struggle between the members might result in serious damage to the party.
