Who comes first chicken egg or hen?

According to recent research done by scientists that is said to be, the hen comes first not the egg. The scientists say that hen is the first to not the egg because the the egg shell the white outer layer is made up of some type of protein so that is only produced inside the hen. So hen is the one who came first and might have produced egg on reaching maturity.
