Manipur's current chief minister is Nongthombam Biren Singh (N. Biren Singh). He is the Chief Minister of Manipur, former football player, and a journalist. In 2018, N. Biren Singh received the Champions of Change award for his outstanding contributions to the country. The award was given by India's Vice-President, Sri. He started his professional as a footballer and was recruited by Border Security Force (BSF), where he represented the force in local games. He left the force to pursue a career in journalism.
