Homo habilis, or "handy man," was one among the oldest known humans, living between 2.4 million and 1.4 million year old in Eastern and Southern Africa. Between 200,000 to 300,000 years ago, Homo sapiens , the very first modern humans, developed from their early hominid forefathers.
Between five and 7 million years ago, the primary human ancestors evolved, presumably when some apelike creatures in Africa began to steer on two legs. Evidence suggests that the primary humans to migrate out of Africa didn't have much luck on their journey.
