Bhai dooj is a Hindu festival celebrated on the 2nd day of Diwali in the month of kartika. It is a festival of love between brother and sister and the protection of both for each other. It is also known as bhai tika.

There is a story behind the celebration of Bhai dooj day.

According to Hinduism Yamraj harder sister named Yamuna. One day he came to her sister and Yamuna welcomes her brother with respect and love. And with sweets and Aarti oh him.

For which his brother ask her sister to ask for any gift on which her sister Yamuna says to dedicate the day to celebrate the bond between brother and sister. Hence the days known as bhai dooj.

Nowadays On that day sister decorate the thali with sweets. She ceremonies occasion with Tilak and Aarti of him by Sweeten his mouth with sweets. She prayed to God for her brother long life and Prosperity.

And then the brother give gift to his sister.

As per by hindu calendar Bhai Dooj is also known as Yama Dwitiya or Bhai Tika it is a bond of love and protection by brother to their sister.It is celebrated in the month of Kartik the second day of Diwali officially bhaidooj started when the god yama and his sister yamuna named the day bhaidooj.It pays tribute to the bond between siblings relationship of brother and sister.It is one of the beautiful day in siblings life.
