Delhi in the capital of India but it’s said that if you want to rule Delhi, then you have to win Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh holds vital importance since times immemorial when it comes to national politics. If we go by History, we would see that UP has always been the country’s operational center since the times of Mughals.
Even after the independence, the state remained an important region as 8 out of 16 Prime Ministers were from UP. These are Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, V P Singh, Chandra Shekhar, Indra Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Chaudhry Charansingh, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Hailing from the state of Uttar Pradesh, all of these leaders contributed very actively towards the development of the nation.
All the political conflicts happening in the nation have, direct or indirect connections with the state of Uttar Pradesh. All these are the reasons that who gets to rule UP determines a lot of things even for the politics at the center. Whichever political party has performed well in this state, has been successful in getting the rule of Delhi.
