Permanent employees have ongoing job security, full statutory benefits like EPF, ESI, leave, medical cover, and gratuity after 5 years.
Fixed-term employees now get the same pay and most benefits as permanent workers for the duration of their contract, including EPF, ESI, leave and social security. They also qualify for gratuity after just one year of service under the new labour codes.
