While talking about various incarnations of Lord Vishnu, the one that comes to mind is that of Lord Krishna. But Lord Vishnu descended on Earth in almost every epoch to defeat external amd internal demons. Here are three avatars of Lord Vishnu:

Narsimha (Satyuga Avatar)
In Satyuga, while Hiranyakashyapa used to hate lord Vishnu, his own son Prehlad was his devotee. We all know the legend of Holika, who burnt hin her own fires as Lord Vishnu saved Prehlad from the burning. Hiranyakashyap had a boon that he can be killed neither by a man nor an animal, neither in day nor at night, neither inside home nor outside home. When Hiranyakashyap’s sins increased Lord Vishnu incarnated as Narsimha to kill him. He was killed by a half man half beast, at twilight, on the periphery of his home.

Vishnu is commonly held to have ten manifestations, yet the number ten is considerably less 'conventional' than is regularly accepted. The Matsya Purana (47.32-52), for example, identifies twelve symbols, while the Garuda Purana (1.12-35) specifies twenty-two.Vishnu is commonly held to have ten manifestations, yet the number ten is considerably less 'conventional' than is regularly accepted. It is said that whenever Earth and its inhabitants are in distress, Lord Vishnu comes here in one form or another to help us humans.

Some of the forms or manifestations of Lord Vishnu that he had taken and came on Earth are as follows:
Sri Sankadi Muni
The world was created because of the penance that Lord Brahma did and impressed by this penance of Brahma, Lord Vishnu took four manifestations on Earth. These are,Sanak, Sananadan,Sanatan and Santkumar. These are the very first manifestation of Lord Vishnu.
Varah Avatar
When Hiranya Kashyap threw the Earth in an Ocean, Lord Vishnu took Varah Avatar. In Varah avatar, Lord Vishnu rescued Earth by uplifting it on his teeth.
Narada avatar
One of the many avatars of Lord Vishnu, is that of Narada. Narada is a Vedic sage, famous in Hindu traditions as a traveling musician and storyteller, who carries news and enlightening wisdom.
Nara-Narayana
To establish righteousness, Lord Vishnu took the avatars of Naraand Narayan. Here Narais the human and Narayana is the god. Even today, if a girl is facing problems in getting married, she’s married to Narayana, or god before she marries Nara, or a man.
Baaman Devta
To counter the arrogance of Danveer Karna is Mahabharata, Lord Vishnu took the avatar of Baaman Devta. In this avatar, he asked for three feet of earth as a donation and took the whole universe from him.
Koorm Avatar
When the gods and the demons were fighting for the elixir, or Amrita, and there took place the churning of the ocean, or Samudra Manthan, Lord Vishnu reincarnated as Koorm or tortoise. It was on the back of Koorm that Madranchal mountain was placed and the ocean was churned.
