Amazon founder Jeff Bezos will fly to space next month. He announced this news on Monday i.e. on 7th June that he will fly to space on the first space flight of his own company named Blue Origin. Amazon Founder declared that the New Shephard spacecraft of Blue Origin will launch on July 20 which is also the 52nd anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Jeff Bezos’s brother Mark Bezos will also fly with him to space. This flight is considered Blue Origin’s first human flight ever.

The Bezos brothers will travel in a 60-foot rocket capsule that holds only six people. The company has already planned to fill up the rest of the seats with trained and expert astronauts. In May, an auction of the Blue origin’s ticket happened and on June 7 the bidding reached $2.8 million which is owned by the Amazon Founder. If all the things run according to the plan then it would be a great achievement for Bezos as he will be the first to travel to space and hence will beat the billionaires Elon Musk and Richard Branson.

Space will take its flight more than about 62miles above Earth and make its way towards the suborbital space where it can experience microgravity for a few minutes. The six-berth capsule will return to Earth via parachutes. In February Bezos announced that he was resigning from the CEO post of Amazon and he will focus on his other passions which included The Blue Origin.

The auction for a seat on New Shepard ends on Saturday and the winning bid is currently at $2.8million which includes 6000 participants from 143 countries. It is decided that the winning bid will be used for donation to Blue Origin’s Foundation Club for the future to inspire the young generation to pursue a career in STEM.
