The Kashi Vishwanath Temple had been pillaged commonly in the age of the Mughals. In spite of the fact that the consent to fabricated the sanctuary was given by the Great Akbar making Raja Maan Singh the accountable for the development yet his incredible grandson, the 6th Mughal ruler, Aurangzeb, in his decision period provided the requests to wreck it and constructed a mosque named GyaanVapi Mosque.

The well can even now be found in the middle of the sanctuary and stays of the mosque. This well will be notable by the name of GyaanVapi for example well of intelligence.
