The Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha was a religious and historic event of consecrating the idol of Bhagwan Ram Lalla of Ram Mandir which was constructed in Ayodhya in 2010. It was held on 22 January 2024 and was symbolic as the idol is ritually filled with divine presence with Vedic rituals. Traditionally, Pran Pratishtha occurs when an idol becomes the living god of worship of a deity.

The ritual was national in nature since it symbolized the culmination of a lengthy cultural, religious and legal procession. Rituals took place in detail during several days before the actual event, based on old scriptures and traditions, as priests used to perform. The last step of Pran Pratishtha was done in a certain set of mantras offering and ritual actions in which the goddess is invited to be in the idol. After this, the temple was actually declared a holy worshiping ground.

Spiritual leaders, scholars and people of different spheres gathered at the event. The ceremony was broadcasted live in India to a crowd of millions of people and similar rites were being conducted in other temples and homes around the nation. This day held emotional meaning to plenty of followers, as this day represented devotion, unity and culture.

Even the newly built Ram Mandir is a vestige of careful architecture based on the traditional architectural design of temples in North India. The consecration was the gateway of the devotees to the sanctum so that they could have darshan of the Ram Lalla idol in its new shape. The idol was made with a lot of detailing to represent the childish form of Lord Ram to became the main element of the ceremony.

The Pran Pratishtha event did not just affect the religion, but it was also significant in the culture at large. It got the world to focus on Ayodhya and the significance they held in the Indian civilisation. The event was considered to be a ceremony, which incorporated faith, tradition and group feeling making it one of the most important events of the year.

In the most basic terms, the ceremony of Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha was the holy ceremony that led to the temple becoming a reality and made years of expectation a moment of worship and celebration to millions of people.
