Although many travelers suggest October-December as the best time to visit Nepal due to clearer skies and spectacular views, I would suggest you to choose for yourself based on the following perks that Nepal offers in each season:
• March to May
At the beginning of the spring, when rhododendrons are in their full bloom, Nepal offers the best of nature to the travelers. The weather is pleasant at this time with slightly cold nights. It’s a perfect and hence popular time for trekking in Nepal. You can also experience some showers if the luck be with you.
If you visit the country at this time, you will get to see Nepal’s Holi which is gaining much popularity around the globe, Nepal adorning itself in colorful flowers all over, and wildlife in its most majestic avatar.
• June to August
This season is not that preferable because monsoons in Nepal means warm and wet days, full of humidity. You can consider visiting in this season if you don’t want to visit the country is peaceful and devoid of tourists, and before the crowd actually starts pouring in. Since it often rains at night in this season, you can witness beautiful mornings and have a wonderful experience of sight-seeing. Trekking however, is not possible in this season.
• September to November
The season and skies are much clear at this time with fresh air and breathtaking views. These are the dry days, making the time most enjoyable for trekking. If you are a passionate photographer, you are going to bring a lot in your camera at this time.
This is also the best time to visit two famous national parks of Nepal, Chitwan and Bardia. Exploring wildlife at this time can prove to be a great experience.
• December to February
Days are pleasant and warm, but nights can be unbearably cold at this time in Nepal. January being the coldest month, sees no visitors and hence is a tranquil month to make your trip. Nepal has a lot of hotels and lodges to keep you from cold at nights, while days can be enjoyed in trekking.
