Seinfeld. And, yes, Seinfeld.
It is THE best TV series of all time.
The show that proudly called itself "a show about nothing" was the biggest thing for almost a decade, between 1989 and 1998. It ran through a total of nine seasons.
The finale, which was telecasted on May 14, 1998, remains the most-watched finale in the last 20 years. That day 76.3 million viewers tuned in to watch their favorite characters for the last time.
(For your comparison, the recently concluded Game of Thrones finale had estimated viewers of 44.2 million. This includes additional streaming and on-demand viewings!)
So successful was this show that the network approached Jerry Seinfeld (a leading cast member and the producer) to do the tenth season. They offered him $100 million; $5 million per episode. However, Jerry turned down the offer.

Since 1998, Seinfeld has had countless re-runs across the world; running successfully even today. Since 1995, the show has earned a whopping $3.1 billion. And it still is going strong.
According to Guinness World Records, Jerry Seinfeld earned an estimated $267 million in 1998. And this is the highest annual earnings by a television or film actor.
Seinfeld has a cult-like following. It defined pop culture. Four friends and their regular life… the humor popped in every scene.
And mind you, all these happened at a time when consumer internet was non-existent. There were no social media. Had there been Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, the show would make louder noise like today's series do.
So, for me, personally, Seinfeld is the best TV series of all time.

Sure, there are many other shows. Some even bigger in numbers than this; like MASH and Roots. And then there are today's shows that are more popular than anything; like Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad.
But Seinfeld is a benchmark for all when it comes to getting everything right. Friends came close. And it’s one of my favorites. But when it comes to raw humor, relatability, and overall fun, Seinfeld reins!
In short, to answer your question, Seinfeld is the best TV series ever. Of course, not many people would agree with this. Aside from the numbers, it all comes down to personal preference.
