Born in Patliputra,Chandragupta Maurya had one of the biggest empire in ancient India.He was the founder of Maurya empire.His early life is not very clear in the history.It is said that Chandragupta’s father was killed in a battle,he was the chief of the Maurya clan.At that time Chandragupta’s mother was pregnant.After his fathers death his mother somehow escaped to Pataliputra with the help of her brothers.Chandragupta married Durdhara somewhere around 318 BC.He died in the rural place called Shravanbela Gola.
