Who would be bet on in ongoing India vs Australia test series?

India. No doubt.

Foremost, I think it’s funny that people are comparing 4-match India vs Australia test series to India tour of England 2018 earlier this year, where India was handed with a heartening series defeat. Not only is England team incredibly stronger than Australia in tests, but the playing condition on English pitches is also very difficult. So, India stood to lose that test series against England almost imminently; but even then, the team played decently.

Now, coming to Ind vs Aus test, not only are both the teams well balanced, but they are also positioned equally in the test format in my opinion. And this virtually guarantees to make the test series much different and very interesting. Besides, there’s a lot of bad blood between Indian national cricket team and Australia team, media and even the spectators. That will add more heat to the action, making the whole 3-test match series, as well as 5-ODI series very exciting to watch.

There’s a good chance that the series might end up in a draw. But even then, I’d bet high on India.

India Australia 1st test is ongoing. Indian team seems to be a bit struggling right now. At the time of writing this, the live score stands at 250/9 for India in the first inning, with Australia yet to bat. Cheteshwar Pujara delivered a class act (again), scoring 123 runs in 246 balls.

The openers failed, with both KL Rahul and Murali Vijay scoring a collective of meager 13 runs. Captain Virat Kohli, too, looked out of form, hitting just 3 runs in 16 balls. But still, India can make a good comeback in the second inning, with a lot depending on Ashwin, Bumrah, and Shami.

In short, if I have to bet, I’d go with India. Even when it loses Ind vs Aus 1st test 2018, it can make a good comeback in the following matches.
