Under the new labour codes, employers must make workplaces safe and healthy and give workers free annual health check-ups, especially for employees above age 40.
They must also ensure ESI (health insurance) coverage where applicable and provide basic health and safety facilities under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code.
