The longest-serving Chief Minister of Telangana is K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), who has been in office since June 2, 2014. He is the founder and leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party, which has won both the 2014 and 2018 Telangana Assembly elections.

KCR is a charismatic and popular leader in Telangana, and he is credited with leading the movement for a separate state of Telangana. He is also credited with implementing a number of successful welfare schemes and development projects in Telangana since becoming Chief Minister.

Some of KCR's notable achievements as Chief Minister of Telangana include:

  • Implementing the Mission Bhagiratha scheme to provide piped drinking water to every household in the state.
  • Launching the Rythu Bandhu scheme to provide financial assistance to farmers.
  • Establishing the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) to provide vocational training to youth.
  • Overseeing the construction of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project.
  • Establishing the Hyderabad Pharma City, which is one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturing hubs in the world.

KCR is a visionary leader who has transformed Telangana into a model state in India. He is also a national figure, and he is seen as a potential challenger to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2024 general election.
