The Election Commission of India has warned all the political parties against not asking for votes on the basis of caste or religion. It has warned all the ministers, officials, and candidates not to indulge in any such campaign activity.

EC took this step after UP CM Yogi Adityanath and deputy chairman of NITI Aayog, Rajeev Kumar released statements on Rahul Gandhi.

EC has made it clear that no political party can use any kind of hate speech in their election rallies. In addition, no one is allowed to comment on any candidates’ personal life, until and unless it has anything to do with politics. No political leader orcandidate can drag any candidate’s family in the political and electoral dialogue, unnecessarily.

Also, no one can accuse their competitor without any evidence. No political meeting will take place in any place of worship. And above all, symbols associated with the army can’t be used for winning the votes.

Although all these rules have already been mentioned in the Code of Conduct for the General Election in the country, they had to be reemphasized as no political party seems to be following it.

The Election Commission Of India has warned all the political parties not to indulge in any kind of means, rallies, and speeches which violate the moral Code of Conduct imposed by the Execution Commission.

Under moral code of conduct, no party can do the Rallies before the elections. No party can accused the other party. No party can spread any kind of hate and no party can gain vote over the issues of caste, community, religion and gender.

Although the various guidelines have been issued by the commission, but it seems no party is following it. Considering the biggest party by MPs ie BJP. It has violated the rules of Election Commission like anything. For eg: the launch of Namo TV on all the DTH without even knowing who the owner of the TV is and without any broadcasting license is strictly against the mandate of the election Commission. The TV is used as a medium to psychologically affect the voters as claimed by the opposition.

The use of phrases by Yogi adityanath describing Indian Army as Modi ji ki Sena is also against the Code of Conduct imposed. But it looks like there is no penalty for violating the norms. Releasing a biopic of Modi is another issue where election commission approached the Supreme Court.

It looks like Election Commision has no power to do anything against the norms violations. That's why every party is seen not following any conduct and are involved in cold war of words.Loading image...
