Tiktok was a video creating and sharing platform which China came up with. It became a staggering hit last year when people especially teenagers got addicted to making videos and using it as a platform to share it as well. People also took to making videos full time and became popular through this.

But, it took a turn when it started causing a scene. It so happened that a 19 year old boy from Delhi lost his life while making a video. His friend accidently shot him as he was posing with a pistol. Another incident happened in Tamil Nadu while one of the college students lost his life after accidently ramming into a bus while riding on a scooter with his friends.Another video making session went wrong when a man from Chennai accidently slit his throat on record while he was only pretending to do it. Another incident sparked this up when Madras High Court asked the Centre to ban the app as it was the source of a lot of inappropriate content.

All things aside but Tik Tok was an app used by millions of people across the world. Banning of the gap may be due to recent events that emerged due to unforeseen circumstances. But,it also shows the idea of misplaced vigilantism and policies adopted towards new and emerging apps. This will only discourage the creators. Also censorship in any form is no way justifiable.
