A short life story and his career achievements of Dilip Kumar. Keep scrolling.

Born as Yousuf Khan on December 11, 1922 in Peshawar (now in Pakistan) to a Pashtun family, he soon moved to Bombay (now Mumbai). His parents were hard working there. He was trained as an engineer but soon realised that acting was not just a hobby.

In 1944, he made his film debut with "JWAR BHATA". Kumar is known for his romantic roles in films and has been featured in more than 65 movies

In the 1960s, he acted in many popular movies like "Aarti", "Ganga Jamuna", and "Leader". From 1960-1970, he also appeared in several films under Guru Dutt's direction. His best performance was in the hit movie "Mere Apne". In 1970, he moved to Golkonda Film Company and acted in his most memorable movie of all time "Mere Jeevan Saathi" with Asha Parekh (kabhie ab yeh manzil hai tujhe).

Dilip Kumar has been credited with bringing forth some of the most iconic film performances ever. He was one of those unique actors who could never be replaced.
If you're a Bollywood fan, you're probably already well acquainted with Dilip, one of the most celebrated leading men in the history of Indian cinema. In fact, he has been crowned The King of Bollywood. He is known in India as one among the "three Khans" (the other two being Rajesh Khanna and Shah Rukh Khan).

To start off, while everyone knows that Dilip became famous because of his acting skills, his celebrity was due to something else entirely. In fact, it might be surprising to some people how much importance this other factor had in bringing fame to him and making him a prominent figure in bollywood.

Dilip Kumar started his acting career by appearing as a young dancer aged 14 years in a dance sequence in India's first talkie movie Alam Ara (1931).

Dilip Kumar's long 58 years film career consists of some unforgettable movies and moments that was ever seen on the Indian silver screen. The legend was born in 1922 and died at 98 after long illness of old age .He was a great actor who portrayed tragic roles with great finesse and it earned him the name of Tragedy King. But these tragic movies had a toll on his health as he got too involved in the roles he portrayed on screen.on the advice of his psychiatrist he acted in few light hearted roles. But still to this date he is remembered for the portrayals of tragedy on screen. He played a double role for the first time in 1967 with Ram Aur Shyam and it was a major hit.
