Why it is not? If you think that learning cooking will make your girl or boy take a step towards domestic imprisonment, then I’m sorry you are very much mistaken. It’s just a matter of interest and choice among various other activities that you kid has chosen cooking. And above all, it’s a basic thing everyone must know without any choice.

You should tell your kid that knowing coking doesn’t make him/her less modernized, if fact it is making them more independent. In the future they would not be dependent on you while hungry, neither will they take resort in the unhealthy junk food. Cooking is a necessary part of overall development.

Not only this personally, but professionally too it is good to know cooking, as it can land your kid a well reputed and well paid job in hospitality industry ahead. So, if you thing learning cooking is restricting your kid in any way, you need to think again.
