Japan is all set to host the next year’s Olympics and how!
No matter the country is credited with the banner of one of the most developed countries. It indeed knows how to make the best out of waste.
The project of making Olympic medals from the electronic waste was started back in 2017, and the waste and thrown away electronic gadgets are being collected since then for the medals.
The aim of the organizing committee is to collect 30.3 kg of gold, 4,100 kg of silver and 2,700 kg of bronze until March 2019. And according to the officials, the quantity of electronic gadgets present will make them reach their goal soon enough.
The e-waste collected till now have been contributed by the local public, the municipal, the international athletes, and many companies as well.
In the earlier Olympics, the recycled material was used to make medals, but only partially. So Japan will be the first to completely turn to the recycled e-waste for the production of the medals.
If the plan gets executed properly, it will be a great step towards the management of e-waste.
