I’d not say that The Nun is the least scary or the worst movie of The Conjuring franchise, but I’d definitely remarks that it has “none” of a scary scene.
The trailer, and the previous Conjuring movies might have raised your expectations with The Nun, and rightly so, but unfortunately, The Nun is not worth spending a weekend on. If we go by the ratings of the movie, it has gotten 1.5-2.5 stars out of 5, on an average.
Certainly, it is standing nowhere near the other Conjuring movies, one of which (let’s admit it) was already disappointing. First movie of the franchise, The Conjuring, was almost everything that a horror-fiction lover may want to have. The second movie, which was made on the most noticeable character of the previous movie, Annabelle, left the audience disappointed, and desiring more. Annabelle: Creation however was some solace for the followers of The Conjuring cult.
The Nun, again, leaves us disappointed with no scary scenes, loose and confusing plot, and predictable dialogues. Director Corin Hardy, tried a lot to create the same mood as the previous movies, but seems to be successful only at some points. Actors Demain Bichir and Vera Farmiga are their usual and satisfactory good, but even their acting could not save the movie from being just below average.
Vera Farmiga is the best in the movie and makes us realize that Valek deserved more than what has been offered to her with the plot and story. Anyhow, we just hope that the next Conjuring movie would be able to meet our expectations.
