Today marks a stock market holiday in India as the nation celebrates Eid-Ul-Fitr or Eid 2024. Consequently, the country's currency, debt, and equity markets will remain closed on Thursday, April 11. This includes trading activities in derivatives, equities, SLBs, currency derivatives, and the interest rate derivatives segment.

While the commodity derivatives segment will be closed during the morning session from 9 am to 5 pm, it will be open for trading during the evening session from 5 pm to 11.55 pm.

Normal trading activities are set to resume on Friday, April 12.

In the previous trading session on April 10, the benchmark indices saw positive momentum. The Nifty achieved a fresh record high, while the Sensex approached its all-time high. By the end of the trading session, the Sensex climbed 354.45 points or 0.47 percent, reaching 75,038.15, while the Nifty saw an increase of 111.00 points or 0.49 percent, reaching 22,753.80.

Notable gainers on the Nifty included Coal India, BPCL, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ITC, and Hindalco Industries. On the other hand, the top losers were Cipla, Maruti Suzuki, HDFC Life, Divis Labs, and SBI Life Insurance.

With the exception of the pharmaceutical sector, all sectoral indices ended the trading session in positive territory. Media, PSU Bank, FMCG, Metal, and Oil & Gas sectors witnessed gains ranging from 1 to 2 percent each.
