IIT Madras this year, has started the online registrations for GATE one day earlier. So the online portal, gate.iitm.ac.in, is already open for you to apply, if you are eligible to give the exam.
By qualifying GATE, you are eligible to take admission in IITs and IISc in M.Tech / M.Sc. / M.Arch / M.Plan / Ph.D courses in engineering, technology, and architecture. This year, the syllabus has been amended to include one more subject, that is, Statistics, along with 23 other subjects.
The last date for the application of GATE 2019 is September 21st, and the application fee is Rs. 750/- for SC, ST, PWD, and female candidates; and Rs.1500/- for the rest of the candidates. You can complete your application process even after September 21st, but that would require you to pay an additional fee of Rs. 500/-.
The GATE would be conducted by IIT Madras in India, as well as in abroad. The dates for the exam are February 02, 03, 09 and 10, 2019. Exam will be online and would take place in two sessions –from 9.00 AM to 12.00 PM and from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM.
The foreign centers for GATE 2019 are Colombo (Sri Lanka), Kathmandu (Nepal), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Dubai (UAE), Singapore, Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). In case you want your center to be changed, that can be done on November 16, 2018. From 4th January, you will be able to download the admit cards from the main website of IIT Madras.
The result is expected to be released on March 16, 2019.
